Good question! And great point. I went with discs to get the best braking in all conditions. Those rotors are cheap and a little lighter than my Shimano RT-99 rotors but the latter were money well spent and easily worth the tiny weight penalty. I have heard that those severely lightened rotors brake like crap which isn't surprising given the lack of surface area.
