Whoa there ! I whole heartedly disagree. Shaming is a excellent strategy, especially if the indulgent and selfish recipients of TWO brand new vehicles can't find the generosity and the comparative equivalent of spare change for a decent ride for their child.
SHAME I SAY !
SHAME ON THEM !!!
SHAMESHAMESHAMESHAME!
POST EDIT ADDITION:Admittedly, as a parent myself, not ALL the relevant details of this issue are available. However, that said, if I can afford to buy an iPod for myself then I can afford to buy them for my two boys. If I can afford to spend $6k on cycling bike & gear on me, I can afford to buy my kid a Trek MTB. If a parent can spend what $30-50k on cars, then they can damn well afford to cough-up a G-note for bike.
Period!
