Bikes: Tarmac, Why Cycles R+, Evil The Calling

Poulsbo Crit - Cat 3: 40 minute Hilly crit with a steep bunch that didn't matter. Then a long drag uphill on bad pavement where you could move up and then a fast down hill into a flat finish. Downhill had one good line and one bad line. That's it. No other options

Race day started off hectic with my teammate (in the 2's) getting to the ferry terminal and findiout there was an ~1hour wait to get on a ferry. I pulled the bike out of the back of he car and road on to guarantee I would make it to the race. Got across the water and took the ~10 mile ride into town. Ended up getting there about an hour early with my teammate that took the car showing up ~25 minutes before race start. Very glad we did what we did otherwise my warmup would have been terrible and I wouldn't have got to enjoy the ride over to the race. It really was quite pleasant despite riding on a highway the whole way there.

With that out of the way, the race was fun. Very easy to tailgun with the uphill pulling everything back together. Attacked for a mid race prime WAYYY too early from WAYY too far back. Faded back to the back and recovered after the descent, did not get the prime and ended up starting a breakaway that I was not in.. My W' graph is pretty interesting from the race.

Ended up 9th out of the field. Felt really good and confident moving up through the field in the last 5 laps. Ended up 4th wheel I think at the top of the last descent. Ended up on the bad line and slowed down too much for the hard corner in the middle. Feelsbadman. Definitely could have done better, but I'm very happy with how my body performed at the race today.
