...I've been using Jagwire cables for so long now that I forgot this was a problem. The heads on the shifter cables seem to fit everything I've tried them on, and you can buy the stainless die drawn ones for about a dollar each if you buy in bulk. Most people will have a hard time using up a hundred of them, though.
