Snowyfox, This is a tough one. I'm not sure you have provided enough facts to make a good recommendation. But the fact that you are discussing this with your parents and seeking outside help tells me you are a respectful person with good intentions. Based on that I would recommend you DO NOT follow the advice recommending you lie (not tell the truth) about the price of the bike you buy. Also, if your folks think $1000 is too much, present the prices of different bikes to them and explain why you want that one. If my son came to me and said he wanted to spend $1000 on a bike, my instinct would be to recommend he not spend that much, but I don't think I would stop him from considering a less expensive alternative.
