I have read posts stating that SRAM uses the same asymmetric 110bcd as Shimano, and others claim that it doesn't. So that's super unhelpful. Either way, it's a real oddball being the only SRAM asymmetric, as most every other SRAM crankset up to Red can use the same 5-bolt chainrings. That Apex (not to be confused with the 5-bolt Apex S350-1) seems to be the entry level 1X unit not intended for tinkering-- I can only find it offered with that 42T ring.

For switching rings, the S350-1 would have been a better choice.
