I agree with Metacortex but will add a small set up detail. If the caliper/rim is set up well the brake is centered on the frame and WRT the rim at the same time. This then means that the caliper will have both arms pull up (and the pads move in) at the same time. If this goal is made then the presence or lack of the "stud" is of no issue.
Note that the ad lists mechanical advantage as coming from the stud's presence... Andy
The stud itself is intact, just the delrin sheathing "popped out."
