I wanted to get some information on electric bicycle use in Japan. If someone can answer these questions for me it would be really helpful!

1. What are the laws for electric bicycles in Japan?
2. Whats is the most common type: Power on demand, or power assist?
3. Do a lot of people use electric bikes in Japan?
4. How is the quality of the Electric bikes sold in Japan?
5. Is there infrastructure in place for riding bicycles in the city? (like bike lanes, storage for bikes, buses that have bike racks on the front)
