Went for a 77km/48mi ride on Sunday and although I wasn't trying to push myself, I am pleased that I was able to complete it with an average moving speed of 24.9kph/~15.5mph. However, it was the longest ride of the season so far so I was physically exhausted after I was done and took yesterday off and an easy ride in to work today. I have to continue to do rides like this so I can do back-to-back centuries (not the same day, consecutive days) in preparation for a charity ride in mid-September where we'll be riding (in a group so I'll benefit from drafting when I'm not pulling the group) 4 consecutive century days, a challenge for most of us but the terrain will be relatively flat, a total of 1,900m/5,700ft climbing over the 4 days.

Anyway, today's commute was nice, a comfortable 17C/63F temperature but a moderate breeze from the SE so, other than the first third of the ride, I had a headwind for most of the ride. It was overcast and the forecast threatened rain today but now, 2 hrs later, it is nice and sunny.

Similar weather for the rest of the week I think but of course, rain forecast for the weekend when I'll do the same 77km ride again.
