This is my first bike with barons and I’m sold. They are not really better than DT shifters but sufficiently different that I enjoy them. Easy to use and easy to trim. I’m feeling the barcon vibe, groovin the bacon thing. I’m as hip as I can get (which is not much, ya see).

This bike also came with tubies/rims and high flange hubs. But I’m still not sold on tubulars so I sourced the clincher rims shown and they have turned out fine. BTW: I’ve weighed these wheels with those old Michelin Carbon wire bead tires vs the tubular wheels. The clinchers are heavier - the equivalent of ONE QR skewer. IOW virtually a dead heat. I’m liking the Matrix wheels and have, since the photos, mounted Pasela Protite 700x23 folders. I like them too! I hang my head though when I recall, about 5 years ago when I took the Michelins off my Cannondale, stating “I’ll not be riding 23c tires again. I’m too old for those.” Such an authority, so confident, so out of shape really.
