Bikes: 1974 Schwinn Paramount, 1980 Raleigh Competition GS, 1986 Vitus 979, 1988 Trek 360, 1991 Trek 7000 MTB, 1999 Burley Rumba tandem

So we got this tandem...and love it...

It's a 2000 Burley Rumba. Probably has less than 300 miles.

From the moment milady and I rode it, we knew that tandem riding was a good thing. We worked wonderfully together and had a blast. Wanna do more. Have a century late August we want to do (I've done lots, she's done none).

Now, this is a very decent - if not top of the line - bike. Let's just say I about inherited it. The only issue is, it's a small frame size. I need large (my road bike is a 61). I guess could find a stem to make it fit better but long term, I reckon that'd be a compromise.

So, I ask advice because I haven't seen much info (in a few hours of googling) about Burley's and what's good/bad/proprietary.

Should I search for a frame swap? Entire bike swap? Sell off and get the right size?

I'm a vintage steelie rider but on the tandem I really like indexed shifting (first time I've ever had such a thing). Want drop bars and road wheels.

What's the thoughts on my situation?

Looking forward to feedback.
