In another week or two my wife and I, along with the dogs, will be shifting out to our 'beach house' for the summer. The gardens are in, of course, but I can only get out there once a week or so to water, mow, etc. And that's where I was last night. It's been dry lately. I bailed a lot of water out of the sump to pour on the tomatoes, peas, strawberries... but it was still dry. This morning I got one bucket of water that I was pouring on the strawberries when there was a flash of lightning and I thought, okay, maybe this isn't necessary? So I locked up the house, got on my folding bike and headed for the station. I got a half mile before it started to rain, and by the time I got to the station, four miles later, I was thoroughly drenched. So, in my wet shirt, wet shorts, wet shoes... I spent an hour and a half on a refridgerated train. Really unpleasant.
