I know, I know, but this is my section and you guys are my BF compadres. Had my eye on them since they came out, despite disc brakes. They seemed to be more of a modern "sport touring" bike. I wanted aluminum, a threaded BB, mechanical brakes (not hydraulic) and a geometry that didn't have a 5 foot tall headtube.
What was the desire for wanting aluminum? Lighter? Corrosion resistance? I've never really owned any "nice" aluminum bikes so my view of it as a bike frame material is skewed.
