BMC in the US seems to keep very tight control. I was extremely lucky a few years back and found the exact one I wanted at end of the year with a fabulous discount, but with a 6 hour drive to pick up.
Prior to that I nearly purchased in Europe as the cost difference between the US and European was an even more fabulous discount (even after duties). I was travelling through London frequently at the time and almost purchased one from Evans - they advertised having a shop near Gatwick and they would pay your Taxi fare.
Hmm, you friends with Datlas? I hear he needs a bike to rent......
