Cable Adjuster for C Record RD

I'm assembling parts for a C Record dress up for my De Rosa. I have a 1st Gen C Record RD which is in its natural state as designed for friction shifting. I want to put 6 speed Syncro on it so will need a cable adjuster for tuning. The Campy adjusters for this purpose are rare and very expensive when available.

Anyone used an alternative solution for this? I'm thinking about this. The slot on the RD is 5 mm, no thread.
