I also want to be able to fly with it, some sort of case. BF has a suitcase that you can actually tow behind the bike but that sounds rather cumbersome. Are there other options for being able to check a folding bike in as luggage?
Use the original carton box to fly from home, dump it when you get there, and get a new box in each city from which you'll be flying.
If it's a name brand (Brompton, Dahon, etc.) and each city has a dealer, email them a few weeks before and ask them to spare a box. If no dealer is available, go to any bike store or hardware store and build a box for the trip. It's just a pair of cissors + tape.
