other than current supply and demand issues that make track framesets go for more than road, i don't see any reason why one should cost more than another, per se. someone might prefer road geometry and horizontal dropouts and still want to ride fixed gear. i tend to prefer track frames and all that jazz like most of us here, but i am not under some illusion that they are necessarily superior or more deserving of high prices than more traditional road framesets. it just so happens that track **** is extremely popular these days.
