Not sure about Sora but with Shimano triples it is normal to need the second full clickstop when shifting from the granny ring to the middle ring. One good shove to the right should get the job done. After making that shift, trimming the middle ring to avoid chain rub may require shifting back to the second stop depending on where the chain is on the cassette (in the rear).
