How does it stack up against the Roam 1 and DS 4?

The running gear on the Toughroad SLR2 is quite a few steps below and the crank is very average, but the frame and fork(well the fork is all together different) are the strong points to the Toughroad SLR2.

All of the bikes should be able to fit 2" wide "road tyres" like a Schwalbe Marathon Supreme or Mondial, but the Toughroad has the most clearance of the 3 bikes and may even be able to fit in a tyre as wide as 2.5".

In my view, the Toughroad SLR2, is more for someone who wants that great base to build from and upgrade components at their leisure, whilst the DS 4 & Roam 0/1 are for people who want a good bike and not be bothered with having to upgrade anything, at least for a while.

My buying decision was made easier by finding the Toughroad SLR 2 on a good discount, if any of these bikes are heavily discounted in your size, that might help you make your decision.
