$225?...sure.
$250?...perhaps.

I price what i think is reasonable for both parties and to try to nove what i am trying to sell. Pricing high, in my eyes, just moves a bike into the pile with 60% of craigslist-the verpriced and ignore category.
Ditto, ask too much and it never moves around here. I have on occasion responded to high priced ads that have lingered a long time, sometimes sellers get flexible, sometimes not. I have been watching one bike on Charlotte C/L, overpriced, that has been on there for over FOUR years. Seems like 90%+ of my local C/L are repeat ads, the same bikes over, and over, and over again.

Blah group, missing lever hoods, old tires, XL size, no chrome, $200.

The vintage bikes here that bring more money have more pop with chrome, and tend to be medium sized, or better yet, small sized.

$250 here is really hard to get, unless it is modern.

Part outs from that era need higher end components: Suntour Cyclone or higher, Shimano 600 or higher, anything Campy; or some of the old school MTBs. And be prepared for left overs that don't sell. If in good condition, I donate them to the co-op.

Please don't confuse ebay "asking" prices with "selling" prices. Many sellers never get their ask price. some are far from it. Value is determined once an item actually SELLS. Its easy enough to check SOLD prices.
