When I was there, I did "wild camping" generally outside of the towns. To bed at dusk, up at dawn. No trace but matted grass left behind.

In Rome, I stayed at a youth hostel. I think in Rome, it was on the North side, up near an Olympic stadium. A bit out of the way, but I had the bike with me.
