I only have experience with multiple cats. Once you hit 3 it's basically the same until you hit about 10 or so, at least that's my guess. 8 or 7, no biggie. We fostered 4 kittens when we had 8 and that got to be a bit much.
No kids at that point.
Now 7 cats, 1 kid, and I wouldn't want any more of either.
