I ride alone a lot. I am trying to get fit and I enjoy riding a great deal. I started using Strava to help push myself. I am only racing myself. I enjoy trying to beat my times. I also enjoy seeing how far off I am from the real race type riders. I am 51 and am very aware that I will never be KOM. I will never win the Tour. I sure do like seeing that I beat my personnel best on a segment of Strava. I consider it fun to even land in the top 10 on any given day considering 4 years ago I was told I would be on oxygen by now if I did not quit smoking and I could not run a half a block without being doubled over fighting for air, and seeing stars. The doctors have told me all signs of my Emphysema have gone away. Don`t let the jerks ruin your fun. Its only bad if you view it that way.
