You are obviously too young to remember fresh, hot roasted peanuts that used to be available at many stores. In Nashville there was a Planter's Peanut shop downtown that had an aroma that pulled clients in from a block away. And the Woolworth's (5 and Dime store) had a Soda Fountain that roasted peanuts on Saturday morning. I used to pass it most every Saturday after the Hop-A-Long Cassidy or Cisco Kid movie (and cartoon) at the local movie house, 10 cents for the 1st Sat showing. But I never had the money for peanuts after splurging on the movie.
