back after 8 years - was that the right bike decision?

Hey all,

This isn't all that serious of course but hey why not

i used to race/bike religiously for 4 years about 8 years ago. I like pushing and while not a sprinter do like aspects of aggressive riding.

I was just trying to get back into cycling (not racing) on a budget and saw a used cannondale synapse hi-mod (2011 - womens!) with sram red and mavic ksyrium elites. I got excited and a little blinded by the bling and paid $1000 for it. Now im realizing its more of a comfort fit and not the 2014+ better model. Also from my understanding, a lot of carbon improvements have been done since ive messed with this last.

Right now bike is in the shop having cables replaced (just from age / casing peeling, the rest of everything is in great condition) and im scheduled for a fitting.

Did i get an OK deal? Am i gonna dislike this investment? Should have i just bought a newer caad with 105? Or will i not notice the differences (that are at times exaggerated on the internet) and just enjoy getting back into riding.
