I hand wash gloves in the sink and do my helmet pads at the same time. At least weekly - more often in the hot months. I keep an extra set of both so I can always have clean gear. I never throw anything with velcro into the wash machine with shorts & jerseys - velcro sticks to them and can tease the fabric when you pull it loose.
