Group ride on a local curvy, wooded road.

Came to the front as the road straightened, & put out some effort.

Looked back to see that I had dropped the group, slowed & one caught up.

As the rider approached, had trouble getting back up to speed because I was riding on a flattened straw wattle which ran along the edge of the road.

Tried to push off with my feet as per rpenmanparker, without success.
