When you sand, you strip anodizing. Otherwise, your parts will be easily marred.
True but where I live its dry and wont see water on the roads. This is my coffee ride bike

If you polish and look after it alloy will last a while without any issues. This wont be getting stored in a shed and forgotten.

I could also clear coat it but that will make it look slightly faded. A good quality polish will maintain this for years
