The K in the serial number is for Kuwahara. One of the finest bicycle manufacturers in Japan. They made thousands of bikes for Schwinn BITD. (One of the main reasons Schwinn went broke. Everybody suddenly realized how much better the Japanese bikes were in comparison to the mediocre junk being produced in the USA). The old original PDG Schwinn Paramounts have totally bulletproof frames built to last a lifetime. Slap some new parts on it & ride that thing. With a modern wheelset & shifters that could be a nice 20lb dream ride. Be good. Have fun.
