Well here's another odd one. It's on Scranton Ave. in Lynbrook, just east of Union. I saw this one day last summer while on my bike commute. The state seemingly had just erected it.

And for those of us who ride up Stewart Ave., just north of Hempstead Tpk., there's a historical marker about the Motor Parkway just north of the spot where the Motor Parkway crosses Stewart. The marker is in the trees on the east side of the road.

But my favorite is on Mannetto Hill Rd., the one between Washington and Round Swamp. The marker states it's the boundary between New England and New Holland, or some such, also known as the Nassau/Suffolk border.

This is as BTW, why cycling is so cool. You get to find and see stuff you would never see in a car.
