2004-I had been sick a lot in the spring which cut into training. Several mechanicals on Monitor put me at the top
at 8:30 and only managed the front side of Monitor. Turned around and went back to a great breakfast in
town.
20006 and 2013-Work got in the way
2008-I started training hard, but was taken out in a group ride in May and broke my hand. Did make it back on
the bike for four months!

A group of eight-twelve of us, would go up on the Monday before. We would camp at Indian Creek Reservoir. (Turn left on Airport road before Turtle Rock and go to the end of the road. Best campground in the area.) Everyday was riding a pass, lunch, nap, Le Grand Tour (Yes we took a satellite dish!), and dinner. Repeat for the week! Everyone is still riding, just different priorities in life. One guy and his wife are on their tandem going across country. They should be in ND today. (https://teamtwomuchfun.wordpress.com/)

Doing the ride taught me a lot about myself and just how far you can go when your body is screaming at you to stop. I no longer have the time to put in the hours of training required and the peer pressure is no longer there. Make sure you tell your friends how much fun it is to ride a couple small rolling hills. lol
