Spoke with a rep earlier today and he urged me to pick up the Quad and told me that the only significant difference between the two is the battery pack that comes with the 400R, which he said is only really needed by tourists. Though I do ride for more than 6 hours at a time, so I think, for me, it would come in handy. But I wanted to get some opinions before I made my decision, so any thoughts (random or otherwise) that you guys could share would be great.
By the way, does anyone know if (or when) the Designshine DS-500 will be restocked? If not, do you guys know of any other place to get them?
Partly by luck, but also persistence and making a habit,
I ultimately got a good deal on a like new DS-500 (it was used only once or so by the spouse of the seller who stopped riding apparently after an accident) in early 2016 on eBay.
I was more or less so doing the same thing I did when I found this particular thread/question of yours. Doing a search on Google. I added filters and a time range and found a thread on another forum (that itself had a link to an eBay posting for the DS-500). It was like new too, so I was happy.
1.) Notifications: In your case, I'd suggest doing Google notifications and eBay notifications; at the least, eBay notifications.
If you are still interested in a DS-500 and want help with setting up those notifications, let me know. It helps to have filters.
2.) Resuming prouction: Stephen at Designshine has more responsibilities and less time and on his website, he probably didn't say much about
if or
when about resuming production because he's not sure.
3.) Possible seller: There is also a member on this forum that was considering selling his DS-500. I could ask him if he was still interested.
