What a silly statement. Everyone dies eventually, the common sense of man says you don't do things to speed up the process. Where I ride on Sunday mornings I see literally hundreds of bikes, most all being racers, all flying around a riverside circuit about 30km in length. There are no busy roads that don't have a dedicated bike lane, no traffic at all if you leave early enough. The roads are smooth with lots of straights and detours with hills if you want that.

I have never read or heard of a death or even collision on those roads. 2 days ago though, a cyclist was killed riding Mt Nebo west of Brisbane. He hit a car on one of the most radical sections of road I know of. I wouldn't even ride my motorcycle there, the whole mountain is covered in plastic from crashes and only the young clowns go up to play boy racer in the tight corners. You want to prolong your life? Ride where it's obviously safer.
