I just mentioned this in another post. This year I've been adding several tablespoonfuls of honey, and consuming an occasional gel or two during long rides and this has made a difference in energy level during the last 1/3 or so of long rides. What I call a long ride is 50 to 60 miles which is well short of of Carbonfiberboy's long rides but at nearly 80 years of age, I'm satisfied with that.
