I think the answer I'm getting is that high quality frames from significantly earlier (1930s) can still be built up to relatively modern standards. Good to know.

Personally, I've never seen a very high quality frame from earlier than ~1980. I just don't think there are a lot of them around here in Bozeman.

Anything older is generally a very heavy cruiser or gas pipe mixte.
