I'm one of those idiots that always gets to a ride way early, like an hour or more. Getting there early allows plenty of time to get your packet, get set up and get ready for the ride. The bathroom lines get really long as you get closer to the start, so getting that stuff taken care of earlier helps avoid waiting in line.
