Bikes: 1980's Peugeot Monaco

Made in Canada sticker but no serial number found.

Hi LisaG5,

if this is a manufactured in Canada frame, then the manufacturer in Procycle. The serial number is probably on the seat tube, non-drive side. Probably on the upper end of the tube if 1988.

However, I have not seen a Monaco model that had a frame manufactured in Canada. It may be a Canadian made frame, I have just never seen one before. The Monaco model frames made in France have had there serial numbers stamped around the BB shell.

Also the HLE decal. I think that is from Franch manufacturing facility in Romilly-sur-Seine. I have taken a look through my data and I cannot find a Canadian frame with an HLE decal. Procycle in Canada may have used the HLE process but I cannot find one with a decal.

Do you have a picture of the silver sticker that indicates made in Canada?[/QUOTE]

THANK YOU so much for the information! This bike has minor rust on it but what do you think someone would pay for it? Rides great and is clean. I guess it's a matter of finding that person who wants it and who will pay for it. So no luck finding the serial number unfortunately. I had a strong flashlight very close to the frame and looked everywhere.
