Are you looking wistfully at this thread, wishing you had a project bike worthy of entering, building, and riding for the Challenge?
Do you live in the Capital District of New York?
Do you have a greater love for abused, scorned, and abandoned bikes than you do sense, reason, time management, or budgeting skills?
I CAN HELP!
I trash-picked several bikes earlier this year, including two that are perfect candidates for the Challenge - an older low end Fuji BLVD-XC MTB, and a basket case Raleigh Eclipse hybrid.
I don't have the time to build these up or ride them for this contest.
The Fuji is complete, including a swanky plush aftermarket 'comfort' seat. Bonus: has wonderfully useless GripShift setup.
The Raleigh is missing wheels, shifters, brake levers, seat, and post. Has stem, bars, cranks, bb, headset, front and rear derailleurs and brake calipers. It is a 100% 4130 CrMo frame. It originally came with 700c wheels.
I'll happily donate them to anyone that wants to enter them in the contest, build them, and ride them.
Please note - I have zero interest in packing or shipping these things, so local pickup only. PM me, first come, first served.
Once I get my picture hosting sorted out (Thanks, Photobucket!) I'll update this post with some pics.
