1. I've had a lot of experience using Zeal HP-X pumps. For me to pump a road bike tire up to 100 psi or so would typically take around 100 strokes. I would brace the tire and wheel against a tree or road sign post to manage the last 25 or 30 strokes.
2. The laws of physics can't be violated. The pressure that can be achieved with any hand pump is dependent on how hard the user is able to push. The nice thing about a floor pump is that it allows you to use the weight of your torso to push downward on the pump. I think that most people would equate that with being more powerful.
I really like Zefal pumps and I still own one. I just haven't used it in several years.
Somebody else made mention of pumping up a car tire with a bicycle pump. He's either a liar or else has a LOT more patience than I do. Getting enough volume to inflate a car tire would take a LOT of pumps.
Your liar comment is totally uncalled for. My tire would deflate after a few days and I would take my bike pump and inflate it just enough to allow it enough shape to drive a few blocks to the gas station.
Just because your too much of a sissy to be able to do that doesn't mean others can't.
