I still see lots of fixies, some with straight bars, some with drops, various pedal and brake variations, etc. Hipsters still ride the narrow bars in Boston, but so does a 60 year old friend of mine. I ride a straight-barred belt-drive IGH with short stays that bobs and weaves through traffic as needed. I like the bars slightly narrower than my shoulders, to provide enough control and comfort while avoiding side mirrors at the tight spots.
