Oh wait, is that how you do it? I've misunderstood all this time...
Quite a ridiculous argument. The couple times I've crashed hard, there was no "don't land on your head". I was fortunate enough not to, but my head was going where my head went. Believe me, if I protect anything it is my beer, and that bottle in my shorts pocket was landed solidly on and its shards embedded in my thigh. The other time my neck, which I am also quite fond of protecting, ran itself smack into a pine tree over 20MPH.
Now, the time I crashed my motorcycle? Another great example, where my head DID pound into the pavement despite my best efforts, and I wasn't doing much over cycling speeds. Really glad I had a full face on for that, even with that I still had a broken nose and they were thinking I'd need surgery at some point (thankfully not).
