Not extensively, but I have ridden bikes (not raced) that have had mech disc and hydro disc. Both have exceeded expectations and what I'm accustomed to...the hydros were on another level with regards to modulation. Everything I have read about TRP Spyres is that the are among the best performing mech disc brakes on the market.
I can attest that their modulation is really good. I'm SUPER picky about stuff, like annoyingly so, and I quite simply just never think about the Spyres. I'm sure hydro is better, no doubt, but my point is that I'm not scheming to replace the Spyres.
