Bikes: 1961 Ideor, 1966 Perfekt 3 Speed AB Hub, 1994 Bridgestone MB-6, 2006 Airnimal Joey, 2009 Thorn Sherpa, 2013 Thorn Nomad MkII, 2015 VO Pass Hunter, 2017 Lynskey Backroad, 2017 Raleigh Gran Prix, 1980s Bianchi Mixte on a trainer. Others are now gone.

I bike tour with a regular bike. But I did go on a group tour with Adventure Cycling several years ago. Total of 16 riders including the guide and his spouse. Of the 16, 3 were on Bike Fridays. That includes both the guide and his spouse. Of those three, two used the travel case as trailers, one did not.

I have never toured with a two wheel trailer, but I did notice that on roads with almost no shoulder that the bikes with two wheel trailers were a bit further into the traffic lane. On the other hand, the travel trailer certainly was easy for them to pack in the morning. One of the trailer users had a rear rack for panniers for overflow stuff.
