This year I decided that I would ride 500 miles per month and that's it. My fitness does not seem to have suffered, or my endurance. I enjoy my rides and can even take a few days off. Actually have time for my old favorite..weightlifting. What about you? How much is to much and how much is to little? Dipping below 500 would be to little, while 800 gets to be a bit much.
That's amazing, just as many miles as a professional cyclist. 10000 miles sounds like a single guy, no kids and the endurance, and recovery of superman haha. Monday I do 2 hours with the indoor trainer riding a 1984 continental that weights about the same as a Sherman tank, and just as durable, and according to the computer that's about 25 miles. Tuesday nothing since I gotta do the "family thing". Wednesday 25 miles on and off road with my mountain bike, Thursday indoor trainer 25 miles. Friday family again, Saturday 50 miles on a flat trail using my 1984 trek 560 Reynold's frame. Sunday nothing.
