I rode for a year with Compass tires 32mm Stampede Pass tires, the extra light kind. Those tires were great and made that bike (rivendell roadeo) a great "all road" bike. I don't honestly think I gave up anything to 28mm tires even by the same tire maker. There is no reason to ride boat anchors (touring tires aren't really known for their suppleness) just because you opt for a wider tire, not in today's marketplace.
I'm riding a road bike now that won't take 32s, but if it could I'd probably be riding them.
What's the rolling resistance difference in watts comparing say Conti 28's to those 32's you have? My Synapse won't fit those 32's I don't think... 2013 alloy version.
