If you like it get it. You'll probably have to ride many years before you run Sora into the ground. The modern low end Shimano groups are friggin nice. My Diverge has Claris and it's so nice I feel bad about replacing it with lighter stuff that really won't make me faster.
That'a good to hear about the components. The Salsa Vaya I'm looking at has Claris components which are low-end for an $1,100 bike.
