Good responses all. Also since we are in the learning mode, be advised if you ever replace the rim strip that they come in different widths. Make sure that you do not get one that is so wide it might not allow the tire bead to seat properly against the rim and not so thin that it does not completely cover all the sharp edges of the butt of the nipple insde the rim. Also there are some rim stips that are extremely thin. The decrease in thickness lowers weight but may make them prone to being punctured by the nipple and defeating the purpose for which they were designed. I have used these in the past but no longer will.
