It should work. I say "should", since the length of the derailleur hanger is a factor. Give it a try, it's unlikely that you will be disappointed. I'm using an 11-36 on my gravel bike with a 5800 11-speed rear derailleur. This derailleur is also rated for 32, but the 36 works without any modification to the installation. I avoid the big-big combination, but if I shift to that combination inadvertently, it doesn't cause any issues.
