Around here (NC), I don't think a cop would know how to issue a ticket to a cyclist. Out of curiosity, what is the course of action after receiving one? Pay a fine? Go to a cycling safety class? Community service?
You take a day off and go to court to dispute the ticket. The judge then tosses them out. This happened to me three times.
