One day I measured the cable pull of the 5700 vs 5800 fd shifter. You'd think that the 5800 would be longer because the fd seems to have a longer lever and thus need to go farther, right? Wrong, the 5700 had the longer cable pull. I can't find my numbers though, so sad.
